SYNOPSIS: Kamil is a failed musician who has been persuaded by his uncle to return to Lebanon to work. Raya is a beautiful and mysterious woman who's found her place in Parisian society and is going back to search for her lost son. The two travelers meet on the boat from Cypress to Lebanon. Through Raya, Kamil confronts the bitter despair and destruction, both physical and moral, of his country. Through her, as well, he learns to face a turbulent past. Codsi won the Special Jury Prize at the 1994 Francophone International Film Festival for the "pertinence of his purpose, insight of his narration and audacity and fairness of his vision."
